Genre: Classics, Fiction, Philosophy
This is a story of political injustice. It is about a man who is arrested without having committed a crime. Throughout the book, he is harassed and persecuted, without even having an idea as to what his crime could be.
This was another recommendation that I took from the buzzfeed list of disturbing books. It’s a classic, which means that if you don’t like it, pretentious philosophy majors will tell you that you aren’t a real reader and you “just didn’t get it” (reference: every review for this book on goodreads).
The book is primarily an allegory, and it has been left unfinished. It is an interesting concept, but I didn’t find the book itself to be engaging. It had an Alice in Wonderland feel to it, with a lot of bizarre and intentionally confusing elements, which I liked. However, I was also bored. I found that the description of the book itself was much more interesting than the actual book. It just wasn’t my cup of tea.

That’s a -1. My first negative! Uh oh, don’t tell the philosophy majors.
